It’s Halloween!!!
OK, it’s not. But it IS October, which means Halloween decor is now acceptable.
An idea popped into my head over the weekend that I had to act on.I had a few canvases of several different sizes (mostly 8×0) from an incredible sale at Michael’s a few month’s back. The 8×10’s ended up being something crazy like $.40 a piece!
I know! Crazy, right?
So I pulled out 3 canvases and got to work.
First was the black BOO sign, which looked a little too plain when all was said and done, so I added a few white polka dots….

because don’t polka dots make everything a little more fun?
Well, that and rick rack. I rick rack

Next was the super fun and super easy canvas.
Two painted black ovals in the approximate center of a white canvas make a GHOST!
Easy Peasy and so cute!

Last was the jack-o-lantern.
I started with apricot craft paint all over the canvas, let it mostly dry, then painted orange pumpkin craft paint on in horizontal brush strokes.

It’s tough to see the detail in this dark corner and I was too lazy to take it off the wall and out to the bright, beautiful sunlight (plus it was kind of chilly today-not that I’m complaining- bring it on Fall, bring it on!)
Can you see the cool texture to it?

Oh, and black craft paint completed the jack-o-lantern face.To attach the three canvases, I fished out my handy dandy glue gun, black satin ribbon, and gorgeous pumpkin rick rack. Ah, rick rack.
Ta Da! Three canvases, 30 minutes painting, 2 minutes glueing, and Poof! Halloween magic!
